Bonding

ConAPA can also provide their members with bonding. All contractors are required to post a contractor's license bond to obtain and keep their license. There is a three-way agreement between a surety company, a contractor and the project owner. If the contractor does not fulfill the obligations of the contract, the surety party to the agreement assumes the responsibilities of the contractor and ensures that the project is completed.

In addition all responsible managing employees (RME) and some responsible managing officers (RMO) are also required to post a bond. This bond is for the benefit of the public to compensate them for actual damages if the contractor does not adhere to the Contractor's License Laws.
